Juan José Lomazzi Aduri / Tenerife
JJ left Venezuela a few month ago to start a new life on Tenerife, he took his family and probably the most beautiful boards the Canary Islands have ever seen.
Who are you? Where are you living?
I am JJ Lomazzi Aduri, I am from Venezuela and now living now on Tenerife, Canary Islands.
When and how did you start collecting?
I started collecting surfboards half of my surf life, about 20 years ago. In time I grew up I loved vintage surfboards, just because of the golden era of surfing, from the 70’s till the 90’s when surfing went more adult.
Which was the first board of your collection?
A Mark Richard twin fin, but I sold it and I regret about that.
How many boards do you have?
Actually I have 8 surfboards in my collection.
Which is now your most preferred board?
My favorite board is a Lightning Bolt Pipeliner shaped by Gerry Lopez, original from 1973.
Are you surfing your vintage boards?
No, never. But I have wet dreams.
Which one do you like to surf most?
I really have a lot of wet dreams.
Who is your favorite surfer from the 60’s-90’s and why?
My favorite surfer is Mark Richard, because he has an unmistakable style which nobody was able manages to do for that time.
Who is your favorite shaper from the 60’s-90’s and why?
Gerry Lopez and Rory Russel, they have an unmistakable surfing style and they were the one who gave style to the Pipe.
Where can we see your boards?
It’s my private collection, but I will expose some of them from now on the Canary Surf film Festival on Tenerife and maybe in other occasion.
Last words:
Surf has been a journey with all my family in which this sport has taught me a lot, where I met people and made friendships. Keep surfing forever.
